Inclusive Language
The Linguistic Society of America (LSA) defines inclusive language as language that “acknowledges diversity, conveys respect to all people, is sensitive to differences, and promotes equal opportunities. Inclusive language encompasses all aspects of life, from the description of everyday concepts to the recognition of diverse families, physical and mental health, gender identity, and sexual orientation.”
